Our History 

New Amsterdam Global Solutions LLC brings together senior staff with more than 100 years of experience in global logistics, international business, regional economic development action, and international energy policy.  Our goal is to empower our clients to profit from solid business plans in emerging energy and infrastructure sectors in the heart of the USA energy solutions corridor and around the globe.

Greg Wortham
Sweetwater

Greg’s experience includes almost 30 years in energy business, rural development, legislative action, public relations, and energy & environmental policy.  A 1979 graduate of Sweetwater High School, he has worked for the region as a staff member at the City of Sweetwater, Texas House of Representatives, Texas Senate, and U.S. Congress.  Since 2007, he has served as Mayor of Sweetwater, Texas – one of the most intensive energy solutions cities on the planet.

Wortham earned his B.A. from Rice University magna cum laude with a double major in political science (honors) and policy studies (energy & environmental policy).  He earned his J.D. (with honors) from The School of Law at The University of Texas in 1990, graduating simultaneously with a Masters of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas.  Wortham’s business experience ranges from the National Football League to Washington, DC law firms to New York City energy operations to Texas renewable energy leadership.  Greg has extensive business travel experience throughout Europe, North America, and Israel.

Glenn Wortham
Sweetwater

Landowner relations director

Glenn has held business, governmental, and other leadership positions throughout West Texas for more than 40 years.  In government, Glenn served on the Board of Directors of the statewide Texas Municipal League on behalf of West Texas.  He was elected to the Sweetwater City Commission for 20 years, serving from 1986 through 2006.  He served with cities throughout Texas on the TML Small Cities Advisory Council and also as a member of the TML energy initiatives legislative committee.  He continues to serve as a member of the Permian Basin Airport Advisory Board.  Glenn has held leadership in various region-wide business enterprises, and has held multiple high level positions in regional and statewide civic endeavors.  His renewable energy activities have included landowner relations, site identification and assessment, land title analysis, airspace impact analysis, and pre-development activities.  As a landowner title consultant to 3rd Planet Windpower, Glenn handled more than 400 land title research assignments. Glenn has business travel experience in the United States, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, and Europe.

Lee Ausburne
Dallas

International logistics, procurement, supply chain

With more than 20 years experience as a project management professional in logistics, procurement and supply chain management, Lee’s international strength lies in planning, coordinating and managing large scale, complex projects on time and on budget.  Lee has used his communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills to achieve significant cost savings in equipment, transportation and contract services.  In one episode alone, Lee was credited with delivering $700,000 in savings associated with a digital cross connect project for a leading telecommunications company.  As Marine Logistics Manager for Texas Instruments, Lee managed logisticians and warehouse workers in Texas Instruments’ International Oil Exploration Division (Geophysical Services, Inc.) including purchasing, inventory control, and the shipping

 

 

of equipment to support the production of our off-shore marine exploration vessels. Performed quarterly budgeting and negotiated contracts with service vendors.   At Electrospace/Raytheon, Lee provided leadership and direction to a team of 25 warehouse employees charged with supporting multiple manufacturing contracts that required thousands of stock transactions.  He ensured timely and accurate delivery of materials to production lines in two locations; trained and motivated staff, monitored performance, continuously drove high standards in quality and on-time delivery.   Lee took charge of all domestic and international shipping and receiving functions; maintained inventories to support multiple government depot distribution sites.   Lee is a graduate of the University of North Texas, and has global business experience.

Anne-Dorothe Mueller Davis
Berlin & College Station

European initiatives & conference development

Now based in Texas, Anne brings intensive high-level experience in European renewable energy policy development, parliamentary contacts, business networking, and conference development.  She served for 3.5 years as a policy adviser and project manager at EUFORES – the European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources – a Brussels, Belgium-based European parliamentary network with members from all major political groups in the European Parliament as well as the national EU Member States Parliaments.  With her EUFORES colleagues, Anne organized many international conferences, inter-parliamentary meetings, and other high-profile events. 

She was a featured speaker on European offshore wind initiatives at the 1st Annual Texas Offshore Wind Energy Roundtable (TOWER) conference in Houston in 2011.  Anne has a masters degree from Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen (political science, sociology, history), a bachelors degree from Universität Potsdam (political science, sociology, history), and study at Tufts University (political science).

Miesha Hand
Sweetwater & San Angelo

Marketing Associate

Miesha joined the New Amsterdam Global Solutions LLC team in 2013.  Miesha is a senior at Angelo State University and will receive her business degree in 2013.  A Sweetwater native, Miesha sold a parcel of family land in 2009 that became Oncor's Sweetwater East substation and helped set the statewide map for Texas' $7 Billion "Competitive Renewable Energy Zone" (CREZ) transmission infrastructure expansion.  Miesha is active in conference management, website & social media maintenance and outreach, and membership development for our various regional alliances.  Miesha has traveled in the Netherlands, Germany, and France.
